I tried to remove the Speedometer Cable and could not pull out the instrument Cluster Panel far enough to see how to release the cable, Can someone tell me or show me how to release or remove the Speedometer cable, with out seeing the cable, Haynes book says there is a release but does not go in detail to release it. Its erratic in reading and noise... I want to try to lubricate it up near the Speedometer.

it's a pain in a@@ to get sometimes but if you reach up under the dash there is a kind of button on it push on it and pull back on the cable it took me a few times to get it out if you can't get it i can try and get a pic of the cable end up so you can see it

That's the way I unhook mine.

Mine just slides on and off, has like a click to it too, but cant remember exactly how it does. When I did undo mine, i just pulled like hell and got it off.
