Dash lights

I have a 90 model that I removed the dash on and replaced the bulbs with red led builds, I'm still getting some green in the display, and the LEDs don't seem to diffuse the light properly. The centers of the gauges look good but the markings are just not showing. I thought they used a plexiglass back plate with a green tint to it to get that color, but I'm not seeing it. Any ideas how to get the bright red with no green.

You'll need to remove the gauge overlays & wet sand the oem color filtering off the back of the overlays. They'll either be blue or green & if you use another color of led, the blue or green color will still shine through no matter what.

One of the guys on another forum sanded his overlay color filtering off (newer truck, maybe a 95, but the same idea) and he's using my white led's. Here's a pic:

The hot spots are likely from the type of led's you used. Most will leave hot or dim spots and not spread the light evenly.

Here's a few pics of some guys using my plug-in led's in their stock clusters, again these are a little newer trucks, but the same applies.

Pretty even color & much brighter than the old bulbs, plus you can still dim them with the dimmer if they're too bright.
