So I picked up a second fuse box panel for the dash wiring. I have an 07 so the fuse panel is on the passenger side but I have the spot for the older panel in the door jamb. The plan is to use it to wire up some switches for my additional lights.

Which wire is the in line from the battery and would this work or am I a little nutty?

Depends on what you want to wire...I'd suggest relays for anything under the hood requiring wiring...the relay box on my 96 has a few open spots in it that could probably be used for extra lighting, winches et al and won't require much to make them useful.

I have relays and I'm trying to set up like the setup on the how to page with relays and fuses on both.
