Hi I own my 96 ford ranger splash. i bought a dash off a buddy and didnt know that it was from a Automatic truck and im not sure on what has to be done for the clutch switch. im not sure where the wireing goes if it just goes from the colum to the switch or what? If any one has any ideas could u let me know im try ing to get my truck back on the road. Thank OLD YELLOW RANGER

The dash has nothing to do with the clutch switch. The clutch switch should be located in the mechanism for the clutch pedal. Dashes should be a direct swap.

ooo because the kid i talked 2 said the wireing from my original dash for that has 2 be swaped and that it goes from the steering colum 2 the switch

That kid be wrong, I imagine the tech library has the wiring diagrams you need in order to find out.

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

The wiring harness is the same between the auto and manual. The auto just gets a jumper plugged into the connector for the clutch pedal position switch.

FYI:
If you did need to swap the harness, its a matter of a 10 minutes or so when the dash is out. It just bolts onto the back of the dash.

So then all i should have do is the jumper from the dash to the switch? and the original harness has a short in it somewhere.

Yeah, dashes would be the same, it's the steering column that would be different between the 2. I believe the clusters are also interchangeable as well, all you have to do is pop out the gear indicator box from the Auto cluster.

Ok kool well il try it and if i got any questions il post it up for yall to give me some advice thanx
