:yahoo:After doing an engine swap (93 3.0 w/auto into an 89 w5spd) I installed the dash, engine and underhood chassis harnesses from the donor vehicle. I made an adapter to connect to the rear chassis harness. I plugged all the harnesses together and attached all the grounds that I could find. I also installed the light switch, multifunction switch, and the ignition switch from the 93

The dome light, headlights, signal lights, taillights, and backup lights all work correctly. The wipers are also working.

I have no dash lights when I turn on the light switch unless I turn on the heater fan switch. The voltmeter is driving backward, (Polarity reversal??).

I have traced the hot leads and everything looks OK. I could not find any worn or broken wires. I even took apart part of the harneses under the dash.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can track this down???:headbang:

FYI I found the problem!!! The ground for the instrument cluster had a break in it between teh heater control and the Ground connection. Spliced a new ground in and everything except ythe HI beam indicator is working. Hi beam indicator is always on when the head lights are on
