"darty" feel

Ok. 2wd model, 1988, bell tech drop kit.
The front end has a real "darty" feel in that it has a tendency to follow any imperfections in the pavement. I've changed the ball joints ,checked tie rod ends, steering links wheel bearings. The bushings are urethane and tight, except the radius arm bushings which are the standard rubber. I'm wondering if those bushings have softened if they could allow the arm to shift enough to cause this problem

Have the radius arm bushings been replaced? When was the last time it had an alignment?

I seem to recall someone having issues with a 4wd wandering, and it was fixed by replacing the radius arm bushings. If they've been replaced they could have become seated or a little compressed. You might want to see if you can retorque the nuts and tighten them back up. Honestly, I don't know of that would work or not, but it's worth a shot IMO. If that doesn't work get a set of poly bushings to throw in there, with everything else being poly those bushings have become the weak link.

Aside from radius arm bushings, the main reasons for wandering that I can think of are alignment begin out and I've heard that some tread patterns can have that feel.

hmmmmmmmmm.......needs more caster....maybe

jack both wheels off ground......get a friend to slowly turn steering wheel while you watch/feel and check for play in pitman arm/steering box/steering shaft joints/etc
