What was it from? A Jeep? It's probably ok if it's from a Jeep Wrangler or XJ, it would have same wheel bolt pattern and strength wise might be a little weak if you were doing extreme wheeling or had lots of power. Not sure what the width of such an axle would be but I imagine it being fairly close to the Ranger if it's from the Wrangler or XJ.

High Pinion Dana 30 out of a 1989 jeep wrangler yj.

Do a search it's been done a million times... Too weak really for a Ranger, but might survive if you don't beat on it, same width, same bolt pattern...

strength wise it falls short of the dana 35, but should do fine if you stay 33" tires and dont do anything crazy with it.

There's a article on it that was done from a guy I know who lives in Warrensburg, MO. It's in the tech section.

I still bug the guy about thunderbird/mustang related stuff.

I think a HP Dana 30 will be fine under you B2. I have had one under my ranger for almost a year and have 38.5" tires and beat the hell out of it and have had no problems, yet
