dangerranger1983 build

The sway bar would help get rid of the 4" lean, and might help stop the Tires from rubbing in a turn.

If your going to do alot of wheeling where you need alot of suspension movement, use a set of quick disconnects on the sway bar so you can unhook it when your wheeling.

Use alot of Seafoam creep, and some heat, not alot, but just enough to help the bolts of they brake, and if they do brake, then weld a nut to them or grind them down flat, then drill them out.

But if I cut the fenders like I was going to do anyways before I had the SAS, then I wouldnt have to worry.

Thats what I want to try to avoid is breaking the bolts. I will say after I do get them out, the new bolts will get anti-seize compund put on them and changed every so often.

Dont have a tape measurer but from factory height its 8 in the rear and 7 in the front. I love how it turned out, no regrets and woulod do it to another ranger in a heart beat. I wanna send pics of it when finished to the place that sold me the long arms to show how well they have held up and what they are being used for. They have my vote for quality and a well built product.

hey man can u make a list of all the parts u used for your suspension im trying to put together a d30 on my 97 ranger. so if u could just list the arms and sway bars and steering that u used that would awesome thanks man.

I think on a 97 your are gonna need to find a different steering box, one that mount's outside the frame such as one off an EB or 70's f-150. However I could be wrong on this as mine is a 94.

yeah think the newer one will need the steering box.

check out my build thread all-terrain artillery and there's a list that i'm working on for my d30 swap.

so do u think i should do a d30 swap? is it worth the time? are you guys happy with yours? i just wanna know before i do it. I just want a live axle under my ranger already!

my build thread is in my sig
and i'll be documenting everything i do also. i'm going with kroussinoffroad's, escort's, and dangerranger's... so- i have lots of info going thru my head. also i'm working on doing a crossover steering on the d30 to. i think...maybe...idk yet. lol

nice ohh so its not up yet? ya dude i just wanna get all the parts together and do it over one weekend..

that's kinda my plan to.. but i'm still in the planning phase of mine, but i have some info posted up. i'm still working on my list-- i aint done mine yet. but the others i listed above have already.

damn i dont have a list : / i wish i just had someone with a 97 ranger doing a d30 swap i could copy. ha

ALL swaps are different... even if you find an exact list of a 97 ranger sas-- yours could turn out different.

honestly, I loved mine for about 2 month's until i Realized that with the increased capability of my truck i was putting it thru worse stuff then i ever thought I would which took it's toll on the 30. I originally built mine as nasty two tracker and something i could haul a couple dirt bike's with.

within the next week or two i will be swaping out the 30 for a full width 44 as well as the explorer 8.8 for a fullwidth 9''. the 30 definately worked in my truck but over the past 1200 mile's i have actually had two different 30's under it. and the current one need's new unit bearing's allready. If i didnt wheel it so hard or so often I would keep runnin it. but truth be told it just isnt standing up to prolonged mud or bigger tire's.

when i did the swap everyone told me to not put in this axle as it was tiny and weak. i would be breaking axle shaft's and r&p's constantly. I have yet to do either. if someone were to go with the warn lockout kit i think the front bearing's would last a heck of alot longer. also if you plan on jumping it or droping off rock face's i would definately add a truss and weld the axle tube's. the first axle was pretty tweaked when i pulled it out. the only reasone i swaped it was cuz every bearing was toast. and as for steering i wouldnt recommend heim's for anything other than a competition rig as within the last 1200 mile's as well they are all shot. check out my build, i think there are some vid's in there of me floggin her a little. and smokin v-8's in mud drag's
