dangerranger1983 build

The heim does fit with its adaptors in the frame mount but its bolt is smaller, made for the axle side. The bushing bolt is larger and it is the size that the frame mount jokes are drilled for so I may have to do bushing on frame mount, no biggy.

And a double check off the books, both are 8.8 grade.

Hmm imo the frame is the side that receives more of the deflection when the axel drops. But it may not matter if the suspension doesn't travel excessively.

Everybody I know has the heim on the axle.

I've hit two weeks to get the truck ready, hopefully I dint have to with Saturday so I pull an all dayer to get it done. Fed up with the TRE mount that gives me sloppy steering.

On top of this project, have to change the fuel pump, replace wiper bushing and need to raise my engine up an inch. So much to do hopefully the good weather holds out for the next week.

I'd concentrate on the engine first then the pump then the axel then wipers lol. You'll get it done! How are you going to raise your motor?

Jack with a board on the bottom of the oil pan. Using mustang motor mounts so I'll just add washers and longer bolts.

Axle has to be number one on the list, the truck isn't safe to drive the way it is. Going wheeling the 28th and have to have everything ready by then.

Oh ok be careful when you jack it up! I was doing the same exact thing earlier this year when the ground sank under the jack. Shot the 4x4 I had on top of the jack right into my face. Split my lip open. Here it is superglued back together.

I have a concrete surface to work on and super glue on hand.

Hell you're good then!

Mocked up and ready for the ballistic mount. Getting pissed though, been two and a half weeks and only had a "it's been shipped" email from them using fedex.

The mount arrived, just have to tack it together, get the mount I'm welding it to modified, mock everything up and burn and bolt everything in.

Awesome! That's a beefy bracket!

Not bad! It's bigger than my ruff stuff bracket. But that's the exact design I was going to build. Then I went with the ruff stuff one cuz I got lazy.

I was going to do ruff stuff but it didn't drop enough. This is made of 1/4 laser cut steel.

If I had done this right years ago, I wouldn't have l be doing it again but you live you learn right? Hopefully get up tomorrow and start more work. Suppose to be raining and cold but I have a garage and small space heater to help me out, sucked that she sat all winter without being driven because of the issues.

I can't remember if the RS is 1/4 or 3/8 but I broke it first trip. I reinforced it with 1/4" plate and bolted it on and haven't had another issue.

For sure! Sometimes you've gotta mess up to learn a lesson. I've done it once a bunch of times lol.

Good luck! Hammer that thing out!
