Did get the new trackbar mounted to the better/improved? frame mount where the TEE goes into the mount. No pics ATM due to I'm not completely done and is ugly looking. But what I did do was take a stock jeep mount (got from Ben a year or so ago) cut the end off it, then weld it to the custom mount. Steering is much more responsive, less play, body roll before I get it to turn. Didn't get time to fit the stuff that was given to me, started to rain and was running out of time so I will be doing that next weekend along with drilling more holes into the frame mount to secure it with more bolts to the frame.

But does have a different feel to the ride now, which is much better.

Also on the way to fix stuff my fuel gauge quite working...the connector on the sending unit feels like it is shot and won't stay connected anymore. Good thing i filled up and know how many miles i can go before I'm at a half tank.

I added a second tank on my rig. I put a Bll tank in the back. I added like 18" of wire and the Bll plug. I soldered it on and it works but I haven't drove it since I added it so I'm not sure if its 100% accurate yet. It reads 2/3 tank which is what I guesstimated was in the tank.

Still heated up about the damn connector, the one gauge I want to work. Ill have to see with the help of somebody watching the gauge if when I push it down that it reads. If so, time to bust out the glue.

In other news, ordered a 1 inch air filter housing spacer, $4.95 free shipping, have to love ebay. The fuel inlet is high up on the carb and hits the current housing I have and I dont want to dish out the money for a different one.

Thinking I'm going to do the mustang gt/v6 rear disk brake swap since one of my drum brakes is shot and there is nothing wrong with my 7.5 other then that. Plus i can stick them on a ranger 8.8 28 spline if need be.

Don't want to do the exploder axle swap since it will take more work to put under my truck for the same result (other then 31 spline axles) plus I would have to change my brake master cylinder too.

My biggest problem is finding the backing plates for gt/v6 axles, the stock 10 inch setup. I cant find them anywhere, all I can find are the kits with the 11.65 cobra kit upgrade. I can piece the rest together. Going to be putting this on my 7.5 axle and if it lets go then a ranger 8.8.

If anybody knows where I can get the backing plates Im looking for let me know!!!!!

I know you said yours is good, but what's the price difference in doing the disk swap vs a disk 8.8 swap?

Sent from, wait how did this get here?

Welding new perches, shock mounts and also having to change master cylinders if you do the exploder rear axle. The disk swap is basically bolt on and if you have invested into gears, lockets, etc... into your axle you can use your axle and put the disk brakes on it.

I guess if you have invested some money into your current axel I guess it could make sense. I didn't know you had to change the master cylinder when swapping to an 8.8.

only if the 8.8 has disk, if your going to a 8.8 drum, you don't have too.

I want disks, much easier too change.

I haven't invested anything major into my axle but it does have new seals on it and those are fun enough to change.

I hate replacing, fixing on, etc... drum brakes hince why i want disk rears.

Now I'm throwing around the thought of doing the exploder swap seeing as my truck won't be down as long.

Keeping both options open right now, have to get the other stuff done first.

With the 302 id do the explorer axle. It may not be 4x4 now but it will be eventually and this gives you disks and down the road the strength u need

The exploder axel would be the best idea in the long run bud. It'll be done and you won't have to worry about it.

I vote for the Explorer axle, that way you aren't spending good money on a axle that isn't going to be in there long anyway.

I guess the hardest part with going to a explorer axle is finding one that match's the front axle gearing.
