I haven't tried one, but look in to the Noisy Gear Set if you don't want to stay stock.

I mainly just get what they have at the auto parts store that the factory calls for.

My stepdad had the noisy ones in his 350, they were nice but killed off the noise of the engine. I may just go to my parts store and get a factory set from an HO mustang as suggested.

Well as suggested in my 302 question thread I went to my locakl parts store and got a new OEM one for $11.55 and thats with a 10% discount due to another sister store in town had the part in stock. It also has different degree slots that allow me to advance/retard the camshaft 4 degrees but Im going to keep put in on the engine in the stock position.

Also I rotated it a few times and nothing made contact, i.e piston and valve, so all is good to go.

The lobes will be in different places. The HO cam has a different firing order then the Non HO cams.

Sitting in the garage I noticed that my 302 bellhousing has 2 bolt holes for the starter. Went in the house and saw that my new/rebuilt starter from rockauto has 3 bolt holes and it is made to mount on the driverside of some other vehicle.

So If I go tto autozone, they want $40 for a rebuilt starter with core, maybe they wont notice that the starter I have is different from the one I need.

Or if I go to the JY, I wonder if they will trade me stright up for the one I have for one they have.

Got the engine cleaned up a bit more, Im like on 2 out of 3 total clewanings before painting it.

Also need to figure out how to get the old dipstick tube out so that I can put a new one in it.

Next is to take off the exhaust manifolds and do the last detail cleaning with a toothbrush.

use a hammer on the bottom side of the tube and tap it out (tap not bang), if that don't work, then use a drill.

Are you going to paint the engine ford blue ???? or that ugly ford grey ????
