Cause people are stupid and dont care. When i used to drive a semi they would pull out in front of u and then turn off right away. They dont realize that a 80,000lbs truck cant stop on a dime...needless to say i have hit a few cars.

Amen Brother, I have also pushed a few cars in my day, also had a few tear the paint up on the trailers bull bar when I decided that I didn't like tailgaters.

Was on my home today and was taking a left hand turn behind a van. Well there were vehicles in the waiting in the other lane at the light and right when the van in front of me turned the corner, people decided that it would be faster to go behind them and cross the street. The van didnt see them till after they had turned and almost hit them. Good thing I follow the street rules and stay back because there sudden stop made me have to do the samething and my rear wheels were screaming to a stop. Safe to say you can't fix stupid.

On the other hand, adjust the toe in problem a bit. Measuring from a common tread from tire to tire front and rear my rear was 1.75 inches more then the front. No wonder I was starting to eat the outsides of my tires off. Got it adjusted a bit and we will see what that does for me. Also after doing that took it for a test drive and now Im not getting any feedback from my brakes anymore. Maybe my fuel mileage will improve too (doubt that though).

A good way to adjust the toe is to mount a piece of angle iron about 24" long and mount it to one of the studs on the rotor. Both pieces of steel have to be exact length and the hole mounted exactly in the middle of both pieces. That way you have a exact measurement because not all tread block on the tires are even. They may look like they are but at work when I get to see the molds taken apart and see all the pieces, the tread patterns in the mold aren't even. But, if you happen to have two tires that were made in the same mold, made by the same machine and person, and you happen to find the same tread blocks, then you should be ok but.... I doubt it.

I saw on tv that you want the toe to be in about 1/8 of an inch. I wonder if my toe in was causing my brake pedal feed back. Right after doing the adjustment to it I dont have it anymore and even at speed it doesnt happen.....I wonder why.

Forgot to say that I was going to put my headers in this saturady BUT my family is going to be having a garage sale friday and saturday so its a no go. But I decided that since my headers have the holes built in them for the cross over pipe for the air pump, Im going to weld them shut so that I dont have to put it on them.

Okay did some welding on the headers today on the crossover tube hole for the emissions. Since my current tube is clamped shut and not used anyways, why put it back on? Plus my truck is to old for emissions and my state doesnt do them (at least my area).

Also going to make brackets so that my bumper will stay still and not wobble going down the road, started doing that when I put my push bar on the front of it. Another thing that I decided on was Im going to make a reciever mount for the front so that when I do get a winch, I can take it off and on at anytime plus I wont have to mod my bumper and push bar for it to fit and wont have to rely on my bumper to hold it on but instead my frame.

Well had enough time afterwords to make one bracket for the bumper out of some scrap steel. Will say that the bumper or brush gaurd dont move now.

I want mine to be inward and still is. I need to measure it again and see were Im at on it.

Go the manifolds out after 2 hours or so, taking a break due to sweating to death. So far so good on everything getting out smoothly.

Got the headers on, only took 5 hours by myself (including breaks).

Now to go burn off the coating thats on it. Hopefully get better gas mileage too.

Not bad. Good thing is they should swap over, once you decide to 4.0 the beast.

The 2.8 shows no signs of dying on me so it may be awhile before a 4.0 is put under the hood. I will say the coating burning off doesnt smell good and it still isnt done but have only driven ten miles to my gfs house so far with them.

Love the headers, glad I put them on and didnt try to sell them. Has a nice hollow header sound when you put a load on the engine or at low rpms. Does anybody know how to get more of the sound out of them, NOT going for a v-8 sound, just more rumble out of them (and cheap too).

run 2.75 pipe right past the cab, and then turn them straight down, not out to the side or out the back, but straight down, and just far back enough to get behind the cab, I had a 78 F-100 with a 351w and had them ran just behind the cab and straight down, had the most thunderest (not a real word) rumble to it, real deep rumble, chest thumping rumble, and this was through straight pipe, but was 3.00 on the v8.

Just be carefully not to get on it in front of any law men, they might not like it.
