I'm not doing another front axle swap thats for sure. I'll see what money and time say when it comes to a rear axle.

You need a muffler..

also do what I typed about the two screws at the base of the carb that stick out with the little springs on them, that is how I have always set the carbs up and that was the way I was shown how to do it so many years ago.

Due to having a holley carb, mine doesn't have the idle mixture screws at the bottom of the carb, they are on the sides in the metering block. I need to find my vacuum gauge so that I can set the screws to the highest vacuum then I can set my curb idle but also have my dad help get the timing dead on, its hard to do that with a cousin that doesn't know how to and hard to do it myself. Timing first, idle screws second, curb idle third.

I do agree, I need at least mufflers, may order them today.

Got more of the exhaust done, got heater hoses done, moded my shifter by cutting it 3/4 of the way through, bending it then welding on the cut line. Now I can shift into 2HI. Also got some of the front end back on.

You better make some kind of skid plate for that radiator.

Every intent on making a guard for it that still allows for air to get to the radiator. I need to get some ideas for it.

What are you going to do about the huge hole in the floor????

Simple. Grab a large peice of sheet metal, cut to fit over the hole, use weather striping to seal statist the floor and to hold it down I will get some clip nuts and screws.

I should have plenty of space for cup holders now or even a center console if I do get rid if the center seat.

Can't wait to fully be driving the truck again.

Back when I was playing a 5.0 Ex fan shroud I was marvelling that on my truck roughly where I guessed the bottom of the rad would be was flush with the bottom of my frame because of the bodylift.

Otherwise something heavy to wrap around the bottom of the rad would be about it. Expanded metal in the front of it might be good for flying rocks and bugs.

In case of mechanical failure you scooch over to the middle and flintstone it. :D

Are you using the split bench seat??!!??

If so there should be a console under it, at least every one else that has did the cut and tuck on the split seat has found one under it.:icon_rofl:

When my dad got the truck years ago he put the 60/40 seats in it. I news to look into a better set, after awhile of driving, these kill my lower back.

Got hood pins installed. I just have to adjust the height on the driverside one.

Also took the truck for another drive and it went smooth but when I push in the clutch, the engine doesnt want to idle to easily and stumbles till it dies. But if you push on the accelerator, it wants to run so I think I need to turn up my fuel presure a half a pound. Im currently at 3.5 and 5 WILL make the carb overflow so I have to stay below that. I know its not running rich since I can see the outlets of my exhaust through the floor and no black smoke is coming out of them when idling, when I step on the gas while not driving and when I am driving so Im not burning rich.

Yes those re homemade and Im not to worried about scratch protectors but will make a set for it. Total cost $3 at best.

Well 4psi of fuel pressure is to much, it wants to come out of the over flow, but it keeps it running.

I almost want to put a TBI setup off a grand marqui or lincon but then again they ran 2 barrel and I dont want to go down to a two barrel setup. If I can get this carb to work I may get another. It would be nice to get it to at lest idle when I need to and not have it fall on its face like its doing.

From what the engine is saying, its a lack of fuel. Guess I'll but a rebuild kit and rebuild the and also see what it has jets wise and whatnot.

I think you might have a vacuum leak. Does the needle bounce at all when you hook up the vacuum guage?
