Can you get a 8 lug rotor anywhere for a dana 44? I thought i remembered early 80s f 250s came with one but i cant find it anywhere

All F250 pickups (except for Snow Fighters/Camper Specials/Heavy GVW D50 equipped ttb F250) from late 75 to 97 had a 8 lug disc brake dana 44. Take your pick

^^^ yes but a 96-97 uses a different rotor from the other years.

He just asked about getting an 8 lug rotor for a D44, as if they were hard to find. They're not, I was just pointing that out. Yes there are differences throughout the years. Chevy and International also had a 8 lug disc brake D44's he could look at for options as well. Dodge might be another option also, but of all 3/4 tons I've seen all have had D60's.

70s Dodges had a 8 lug 44 also. Some had a goofy fulltime version without any bearing hubs it used a unit bearing like the newer trucks.

Ok i should have cleared this up a little more. I have a d44 ttb out of a bronco, which i might put into a 96 f250 2wd. That swap looks a lot easier than trying to mount up leafs and get a 3/4 ton d44. Im not worried about the strength, because its a reg cab with a 351, so some f150s were most likely heavier than this truck. I just want all 4 tires to be 8 lug on this thing.

Ok, I see where you are going with this. It won't work like you want it too. You are still going to have to buy 3/4 ton dana 44 TTB knuckles, spindles, calipers, and hubs/rotors. The 3/4 ton uses a bigger rotor that won't clear a 1/2 ton caliper & caliper mount. On a TTB the caliper mount is cast onto the knuckle. So you will have to swap that knuckle. The 3/4 ton knuckle uses a 8 bolt style spindle and a 1/2 ton uses a 6 bolt spindle. So you will need that also. Last you will need the corresponding 3/4 ton hub/rotor pieces as well as the larger dual piston caliper. The lock out and stub shaft are the same 1/2 to 3/4 ton.

BTW I should have most if not all of these parts.

Wow at that point it might be easier to just get a the 3/4 ton d 44 or d 50 on leafs and mount up some leaf mounts. Ill see how involved i want to get with this.

Yea, I know what you mean. Either way, I have all the parts. If you decided to do the swap. I also have Sterling 10.25 rears.
