dana 35 ttb question

do all the dana 35 ttb front axles have the same spline count(27) or did they make different spline counts for them from the factory like they did the rears

All stock D35s are 27 spline, regardless of application.

The 30 spline stuff out there is entirely via the aftermarket.

can the TTB Dana 35 be modified to accept the 30 spline axles?

I doubt it would be worth the cost or the effort even if you could find the parts. The 30 spline stuff is for Jeeps. The locker/carrier would fit but there are no 30 spline TTB shafts available. It is not the shaft you are going to break anyway. What will happen is the u-joint will spit a cap and destroy the yoke. It is rare the shaft its self fails.

Lots of us are either otpting for full circle clips on the u-joints or just tack welding the caps to the yokes. This can prevent some headaches and trailside repairs. You can greatly improve the life of your axles by not hammering them in reverse or when the wheel is turned at a severe angle. Both will really stress the joints and axles.

A 30 spline TTB D44 (or even a D50) shaft can be used for the passengerside, the driverside shaft would need to be custom-made (although this one's easy). You'd still have the 27 spline stubs though (perhaps with the D44 outers all this could be a little more worth doing maybe).

With Spicer 760s and welded/circle-clipped caps, the u-joint assembly is much less of a weak spot.
