Getting a 4 inch lift soon and i was wondering if my dana 28 would handle 31 inch mud's?

thanks

I ran 30s no problem for a while. D28 broke, but it had nothing to do with the tires.

I ran 31s for quite a while. The u-joints were pretty hammered at the end, but never blew.

33s three tire changes later no probs i dont go 4x4in all the time but i do go on weeked trips shooting and riding with my family and friends no problems yet

I ran mudders on a D28 for a few years. Just be aware that you WILL break a shaft at some point .

Thanks guys. Im gonna run a my dana 28 for a while until i am able to do a dana 35 swap or until it breaks.

looks like ill be purchasing some spare u joints =]

running 30x9.50 muds on mine with no probs as of yet...i do mostly rockkrawling and big gullies, more technical then most

I run 31x10.50x15 (about 200 miles a day as DailyDriver) for a year no probs yet. I did update my wheel bearings to Quality American Made wheel bearings and high Quality mobile 1 Wheel Bearing grease.

I also havent mudded in a while (since my 07 Taurus got repossessed and hada start driving 89 for work)
