Dam! The 2.8 is running like crap again!

The Ranger was running great last week. On Friday I ran to King-Snoopers to get a red box for the kids. It was pinging under the hood like it threw another pushrod, this keeps happening on just the middle cylinder exhaust valve on the Right bank. But it quit tapping and made it home fine, but was missing like a mother fo. So I move it out of the driveway today to take off and go to the hills for some ski time with the family. I come home today and need to move the truck back into the driveway and it turns over and acts like it is hydraulic-ked.

So I tried to start it again and it starts. But now it could be a smokescreen maker for the military. Burning oil and missing bad. Like I said last time it did this it was the pushrod. So it looks like I am taking the valve cover off it again cause it is running like Shiite.

I need to get to the junk and get a new pushrod. This one has bent twice in the same place and I don't think I can hammer it back into place again.
Oh the joys of owning an older truck.

I don't think I would have hammered it back into shape the first time.

Ok. I just got one ordered up. I pulled the cover in the garage and it was the same one that jumped out again, looks streight as an arrow. I can't see anything wrong with the rocker arm, but I ordered a new one also. Time to change out those pesky leaking valve stem seals also, as I ordered up a set of those too. I would get inspired and pull the engine and just rebuild it, but I am thinking too hard about just selling the truck right now. Don't have room for it with the new project that I am starting. I may post it in the trucks for sale and see what she might fetch.
