daily doubler build

That's an interesting thought. This 4.0 came from an IFS explorer though. Either way the SOHC may have a slimmer profile pan.

I'm stubborn, and dead set on not touching this engine. Anything I do to it increases the potential for failure lol. I'll just push the trac bar forward a couple inches and call it good. I probably should've put it there the first go around anyways.

The 2" joint from Ballistic is on backorder. 4 weeks out. I asked them if they'd give me the detailed width dimension and they did. 2.000" +/- .005". That's enough information that I can now make the decision to build the new mount to house the joint or my wider bushing. If I make it work with the joint (I'd like to), I'll just cut my bushing down to that width and run it that way, then swap the new joint on when it comes.

Weather looks to be decent this weekend. I know I've said it before, but I'm hoping to make good progress.

I will be looking for updates, keep up the good work!

Check with these guys, they make the most BADASS Heims in the industry and though I personally have nothing against Ballistic (they make some cool stuff!) these guys make a wicked product.

Evolution Machine

That would be allsome if I was going with a heim. I think I'd like to stay with a joint or bushing at the frame end so there's some give and less of an impulsive force. The ballistic joints have Nylatron races and can be tightened up if they get sloppy. This is what I ordered, along with the spanner wrench so I can dissassemble, reassemble, and tighten if necessary.

Evo's heims are also able to be tightened up... and rebuilt, via delrin insert! just sayin....

Oh, nice. I do have a heim at the axle end of my trac bar. It's not 'sloppy' but its not as tight as it used to be. I may see if Evo has the same size if/when I need to replace it.

I s'pose its time for an update over here as well:

I decided to just use my bushing for the trac bar. Its got a 2.5" mounting width.

PICS!!!

Added plate where the steering box mounts

Relocated trac bar mount - I added a plate to the right corner between the bucket and the bottom plate, just for the record.

Post plating and installed. Not my best work, but it will work. Good idea that didn't turn out so well once implemented.

Cut it up a bit higher and plated the crossmember

As the ranger sits now. Engine installed and bolted in. Electrical wired up. Fuel lines connected. PS pump lines connected. Radiator in, waiting for trans to be installed before connecting the top and bottom hoses.

Oreilly's gave me the wrong flywheel. The crank flange has 8 bolt holes. The flywheel they gave me had 6. I've been searching online and I think only the 97 had an 8 bolt flange. May be difficult to find an aftermarket flywheel. Awesome.

Once I get my clutch parts I can throw the trans on and try to start it.

hey i just noticed too that you got the 130A alt now

Oh really? Good to know. lol

Looking at it from the front notice the 3 sets of ribs that are one there? The 130's have 2 holes and the 95's have 4 holes.

Just swapped mine out a month ago for a 130

Edit: here's a pic of mine
