daily doubler build

trees aren't just for SC's anymore:icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

and to be honest, he got it in a spot that I didn't think he would.....

Hint for popping it back out.... Take 18" of 6-8" wide firehose (the stuff that collapse's flat when empty, made of reinforced silicone etc) and clamp/seal both ends with some flatbar bolted together and an air fitting in one end. Shove it up between the inner box and box side and air it up. Thats how I got most of my box dents back out... U.A. 2010 did a number on the right side of my box too!

If you can take the time off work and afford it, go for it!

My work is awesome about vacation time. Its ours to take, whenever we want. I'd have no problem there.

I just graduated college, work full time, single, and still live at home. If there's ever a time that I could make it happen, its now. A rear locker, installing my winch, and building a cage and I'd meet all the vehicular requirements. I could knock all that out in a few days if I really wanted to. We'll see what the year brings.

Nice to see somebody is wheeling there ranger!

Damn right! Get your shit together so you can come with next time!

glad ya had fun....cause we had fun havin' ya:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

will have to plan a trip to Badlands before too long.

Thanks John. It was great having someone that really knows the place lead me around. I appreciate it.

Pick your weekend for the BL trip. I'll show ya all the places where I got the rest of my dents. :D

Bray, glad you liked it down in our neck of the woods, sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you or join the trip, I just had too much going on to get away. Maybe next time. BTW, your truck looks like it belongs at Turkey Bay :icon_thumby: :icon_hint:
SVT

It's cool man. I'm sure I'll be down again sometime. Having the trials right on the lake is too perfect. I love it down there.

I'd say my truck fit in just fine, even before the huge fawkin dent. :thefinger:

That's what kinda pisses me off. Here's the story.

We were runnin a downhill little v-notch. There was a rather large tree laying across the trail, so we break off to the right to go around it. Dipping back into the trail, we had to go between 2 trees. I didn't wanna get too sideways on the downhill, so I was hugging the downhill tree a bit.

Frontend dipped into the v-notch just fine. When the pass. side rear dipped in, it threw my bed against the tree - hard.

So I didn't even get it running an 'official' trail, it was trying to go around a damn fallen tree. Either way, it happens. That's wheelin. I was doin pretty damn good up till that point too. lol

I dunno how far I'm going to go to get it popped out. I'll try a few techniques. I know it's still gonna look like shit, so I'll fiddlejack with it for a while then let it be. It is what it is - memories of Turkey Bay. :D

yup...I have memories tied to basically all my "big" dents :D:D

the little ones, not so much:thefinger:

Pretty much where I thought you were in life. And yup, send in your application, at worse they'll tell you no. At best, you get to scramble around for one awesome trip!

haha yeah, I was hesitant to post that. I don't want people to think I'm the rich, spoiled college kid. I started working when I was 13, and I've had a solid job somewhere since I was 16. My parents haven't paid a dime of my college tuition, nor much of anything else. I worked through high school and all through college. I've been a paid intern at the place I currently work for a year and a half, and I'm just now making full time salary. Its nice. :D

My truck and wheeling trips are funded by my own hard earned money. Just wanted to make that clear. :thefinger:

I'm not busting your nuts :icon_thumby: And my guess was alot closer than I thought it was. Other than the fact that you're a little younger than me (Guessing by the photos) our stories sound about the same. People tend to wonder how I get my "Toys" to which I say:

"Its easy, just work 2-3 jobs from the time you turn 13 until you finish working (and paying) your way through college. At that point, you can probaly cut back to one job, but you might want to stick with two just in case." :icon_rofl:

I love my family dearly, but I certainly can't say that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth either :icon_twisted:

And yeah, getting those first "Real" paychecks made me feel like I hit the lotto

Same here, people thought I had money because I bought a house at 18. I don't have shit I'll be first to tell ya, I've just been busting my ass working since dad was let me go to work which started at about 5 lol since then if I was out of school I was at work no summers or spring breaks blah blah blah.

Came out of highschool working 16 hour days at 2 different jobs to make it on my own.

Y'all are lucky and got to go to school :thefinger:

Do it now Bray, time quickly slips away from you after a while. I strongly urge you to follow Wirsch's path, he seems pretty happy....

id definetly be putting an application in... its already been said but right now is the perfect time for you to do it. b4 you get a house and a bunch of crap that takes your life over. plus your truck would be good for it. like you said you dont have much that needs doing to meet the standards for the vehicles.

id love to get on it if at all possible. except i cant... my offroad truck is nowhere near street legal. itd be easier to start over and build another truck for it. Which is the plan one day... and it'll be a ranger for sure.

Apply for UA.... it's an awesome trip, and having the doubler will make it a lot more fun for sure. Ya get to meet a lot of cool people and besides.... who doesn't wanna be in a magazine? lol

No luck involved, been on my own financially since I was 16, paying for school with loans and scholarships, working those same hours and finding time for homework. As the saying goes The grass is always greener on the other side of the tracks.
