i have a chance to get front and rear axles out of a running and driving '92 f-250 4x4. the seller said they are the stock axles and that they are d60's front and rear. is this correct?

thanks

i dont know for sure, i remember seeing the truck over the summer and i thought it was a solid axle...

The rear is probably a 10.25" Sterling too. Good axle, but the center section is huge.

Yes... If they were stock, D50 and 10.25.

The 10.25 is a stout axle and FF.

The D50 uses the same brakes and outers as a D60. If the front axle is a SA, then it was bolted in after. Leaf sprung D60's are a bolt in affair, in place of leaf sprung D50 axles.

The D50ttb to D60 swap is very easy and its quite possible that the owner of the truck doesnt realize its not the origional axle if it is indeed a D60.

ok, he doesnt live too far from me so ill try to get out and check. im hoping they are 60s for a top secret build in the works :o haha

anyone reccomend the 10.25 in place of a rear d60?

A rear D60 isn't even in the same league as a Sterling 10.25".

The Sterling axle compares more to a D70 or GM 14-bolt FF.

not all TTB F250s had a D50, I just looked at one with a D44 ......

Yea, I think the diesels mostly got the D50's, others got HD D44's

the one I looked at was Diesel, 1996 supercab f250 with a 5spd and powerstroke..... D44 hubs........
