D60's?

Depends on the GVWR, heavier sprung trucks got the D50, lighter got the D44 HD.

alright, im gonna at least give him a call tomorrow. would the hd d44 have been coil or leaf sprung, or were they both???

F-250 4x4 = leafs. No exceptions until the '05 model.

ok thanks, im going to go take a look at the truck in a few hours.

From what I know, F250s never came with a 60 front after 79, only F350s did. And the rear is def a sterling 10.25 as long as it's a heavy GVW if its a light GVW it will have a sterling 9.75 which looks the same but is a c clip rear and does not hold up well.

definately is a ttb front end and a sterling rear, not sure if its a 10.25 or not but we just junked our old plow truck, '88 f350 so i think it might just be easier and less work to get the axles out of that

if its a C clip rear then it wont be full floating.

Front will 100% be a leaf sprung front end, either a D44HD TTB if a lighter gvw, or a D50 TTB wif a higher gvw or a F250HD. The D60 is a bolt in swap on the front end, very possible someone may have done it earlier, I did it to a friends truck last year. The rear from the factory was a Sterling 10.25, 10.25" ring gear, drum brakes, full floating, VSS sensor equiped. Similar to a GM 14 bolt or a dana 70. IF for some reason it is a d60 rear axle, I would walk away. My buddy blew the carrier out of his on his quigley E-350 4x4 on 33's. Plus 10.25's are dime a dozen in junk yards, I sold the one out of my truck for $80 when I put my 10.5 in

the only problem with swapping in a Dana 60 into a ttb truck is the spring rates. the f250 springs for the ttb are heavier that those on a f350 with a 60. also if you are looking for a front dana 60 look for the rare Canadian models that have taper roller bearings in the knuckles instead of those crappy ball joints. and for a rear that f350 might have a dana 70 under the back of it especially if it is diesel.

Those would be called kingpins...and they didn't just come in Canadian models....

Dana stopped using kingpins in the ford 60 fronts in 1991 anything newer than that will have balljoints.

That made me snort eggnog out my nose...

Kingpin D60's, In every 4wd F350 and Snowfighter Packaged F250 (until TTB) from the 70's-91, as mentioned.

I don't think so. I currently have an 80 F-350 Ranger TTB in my back yard waiting on me to come up with a project. I don't think someone would swap a TTB in place of a 60.

Every 4wd F350 has a D60 solid axle, unless it's a 2wd, then it's got TIB, (twin I beam) or a solid beam if it's a Fsuperduty. Are you sure that it's a proper F350 and someone didn't just stick the badge on an F250?
