d60s and 35" boggers

I would suggest a D44HP front and a 8.8 31 spline or 9 inch rear. On a truck that light you should be able to run up to a 38" tall tire with no major issues..

Not with HP he wont. 38's will smoke those axles in anything thats not mud. For the price of building those axles to be reliable you have stock 1 tons easily that can handle it stock.

I was just stating from experience, as long as you replace/check wearable parts often with that setup there shouldn't be a problem, I didn't start breaking axles with the 44HP until I went to 40s on an F150, then I just went with chromolys.

Mud? Because its common to break D60's with 40's in the rocks. Heck it happens with 38.5's if you get to throttle happy.

After I went 40s I've mainly stayed in the mud, I crawled a little with the 38s, but I mostly stayed in granny low and took it slow. I thought about going with 60s but I just don't see a benefit in all the added weight when I can just run stronger shafts..plus I usually run a narrow tire so that's more than likely why my axles held up.

That explains it...yea dont recommend a d44 for anyone looking for reliability and has 1 tons available.

Its not on a ranger but i run 35s on my f350 and its not horrible diff wise just need to pick your lines properly. Id do dana 60 front and a 14 bolt rear with 15 bolt shave kit. If you dont wanna shave it do a sterling 10.25. You know you will end up on bigger then a 35" tire.
