Ok, I just got done strapping a D60 in the rear of my Ranger, and thats as far as I've gotten so far, I went to see how the driveshaft looks for length and realized it needs to be shortened. I'm using a conversion joint for the U-Joint to go from the small Ranger joint to the larger D60 joint. I've got a Regular cab, 6ft bed, 4x4, has anybody else done this swap and know exactly how much it needs to be shortened? Or, what is the best way to measure to see how much needs to be taken out so I can tell the driveline shop?

Thanks!

They should be able to shorten it for you if you give them the flange to flange measurement and the shaft.

You can measure the axle center line to flange distance on your D60 and compare it to the 7.5 or 8.8 that you had in there. That difference will be how much you need to have it shortened.

This of course assumes that you have not moved the axle forward or backwards during this swap.
