I am mid SAS on my 95 4x4, (previously had D35). I am using a 79 Bronco Fullwidth D44. As far as adapting the front driveline. I hear my ranger has 1310 Ujoint and the D44 is a 1315 and that the piece out of a jeep D44 will swap right in? Am I way off, If so, show me the light.

when I swapped my waggy 44/ford 9", the driveshafts bolted up to the axles - both were 1310 size.

but of course, thats a jeep 44.

I believe the pinion yoke will swap from a low pin d44 to a high pinion, but not sure.

there are also some tyes of conversion u-joints i.e. 1310 to 1330, etc, not sure about 1315, never heard of that size.

I just used a 1310 yoke when I regeared my axle. Looking back, I should've got a conversion joint, it it hasn't failed so watev.

When I sized up my stock front drive shaft to the HP D44 that I'm working on, it fit perfectly. I was not aware of any size difference....

Stock D44's usually run a 1310 joint, and can be upgraded to a 1350 series....But it's not usually an issue on a front axle.

The D44 is definitely a bigger joint than my DS. So I'm guessing its a 1350? What is the benefit of going with a conversion joint vs the 1310 yoke, or is there a benefit at all?

Measure it up and check the specs online, it may be a 1330 joint. Id do a yoke change before a conversion joint as they are usually much readier available incase of replacement needs etc.
