D35 warn hub clicking

Anybody else have any issues with these warn hubs?
This is the only pic I have of my hub ATM

I have one that has started to click in 4low and it's getting progressively worse just as my auto hub did right before it blew. I took the warn hub apart and all the metal gears are perfect. The washer that the larger straight spring sits on seems very thin. Could that cause it?

I also noticed that the plastic plate the gear selector rolls on has a rounded tooth.

I'm not sure if the hub relies on the thin plastic plate for continuous engagement in 4x4 once it's already engaged. and could thus cause the bad clicking. I don't see how it could.

I called warn and they don't sell replacement parts for these hubs, only sold in sets of new hubs. I really don't want to drop the coin for new hubs.

My rig does have extended shafts and beams but the shafts sit right where they did in my spindle snout with perfect shaft c-clip engagement before I extended everything and went to long travel.

Thoughts?

I once had a clicking happening on mine that I suspect might have been the hubs. After some time though it went away on it's own. I've wondered if a very slightly loose wheel bearing is what caused it (the wheel hub moving in relation to the axle while under load) because it was around that same time I had noticed a little play in the bearings... I tightened the bearings to how they should be and it was some time later it eventually dawned on me that the hubs weren't making that noise anymore. I can't guarantee that it wasn't a coincidence with something else though.

Something to check for anyway.
