D35 TTB 4.11 gears

Mine came from a 90 ranger 2.3 4x4, my fathers ranger. They made them, they just arent common. The diff tags and door tag both say 4.10 and it was a real D35, it's a canadian truck if that makes any difference.

Heh.....Maybe it IS a "Canadian" thing!

I've parted a few 90-92 Rangers with the "real" dana 35 pig with 4.10's in them, and one actually was a 4 banger 4x4 shortbox.

However, I got into a "pissing match" with a couple of members here who seem to think that I dont know the difference between a "true" 35" and a 28/35 hybrid.

They do exists, but really aren't all that common. (believe me....i'm always looking for them!)

If a 2.3 4x4 was made in those years, it will have a real D35. I've seen only a 2.9 and it had a real D35. The weird parts weren't made yet and the old ones were gone.

All 3 auto B2s we've had have had 4.10s... 3.73 and 4.10s were used in 2.9 autos, seems like 4.10 was more common.

True that. Maurice's Bronco II had 4.10's and an auto transmission from the factory.

And I bet they were D28's too.

The 4.10's in the D28 are quite common, so I don't dispute that. I just have yet to see any Proof that a D35 TTB with 4.10's rolled off the line in a truck, that wasn't a D35 hybrid. As said the D28 4.10's are quite common.

maybe this will help your concerns-

when i put the 4.10 pig in my truck i used the complete front axleshaft set from my parts 91 explorer that i had put new u joints and an unscored stub on.not only that i had just helped my bro do 4.56's in his d30/d35 jeep.rest assured that i would have noticed those cute little imitations of a gear set they call a 28,i made fun of my brother throughout his swap too.

i was definately surprised though, the truck had the 7.5 in the rear and i was originally just going to pull and sell or swap the axle set

on a side note when i think back, most of the 2nd gen reg cab shortbox 4x4's i'm familiar with are a 2.3. thats how i located the couple of 4.10 trucks in the yard almost at a glance.

I just scrapped a 90' swb 2.3 that had a d35(non-hybrid) and 7.5 w/4.10 under it, only thing I bought the truck for was the manual 1354 t-case. I know it isn't "proof" but they do exist.

Never said they were D35s, as they were 1st gens, just saying many 2.9 autos came with 4.10s. The DO exist, do think we're lying to you or something?

Do you realize how much a Dana 35 diff with 4.10s are worth?

I have only ever seen ONE real D35 with 4:10's. That was in a 4x4 Shortbed Single cab 4-banger

Every single other real D35 I have some across has had 3.73, 2.9 Auto/Stick, 4.0 Auto/Stick....

4.10 D35 is a rarity around here lol...

Not saying they don't exist. You've never shown prof of it? :c-n::annoyed:

Why does anyone need to prove anything here?
Try finding a D28 applicable for a '91 or '92 model RBV in any Spicer book, then look at the fact 4.10s were offered in some models those years. :c-n:
