Where can I find the best deal on these gears? And why are 4.11 so much more than all other ratios?

you mean 4.10 :taunt:

if your lucky, you might find some on older gen 3 4 cylinder trucks in the junkyard.

The hybrid was also offered in the Gen 2 Rangers.

Nope, it wasn't. The D28 was discontinued in 1990 and came back in 1993 using many D35 parts. Below is a chart of all the part numbers for RBV TTB axles I compiled from Dana-Spicer's Ford book. This book is available on-line on their website.

To my knowledge the only TTB factory 4.10 gears were installed in the 3rd gen trucks with a 4cly and they are all hybrid axles.
I was thinking the same thing.

A 90-92 4x4 2.3 Ranger will have a real 4.10 D35 :D

Proof is in the pudding. Show me a 90-92 4x4 that is a 4 cyl.
not this again,i bought one of those (supposed)unicorns-91 4x4 2.3 for the true d35 third thats in my truck and other parts.and then when i went 4.0 hunting in the junk yards there were two awaiting the crusher.there are even a few in this little town

damn canooks anyway eh?

I haven't seen a true Dana 35 pig either. You should have nabbed the ones waiting for the crusher and sold them.

hey thats not fair, lol - i was going to answer the diesel remark but its gone.i hear you guys see more diesels there than here.

if you really don't believe me maybe i should get a pic of the diff tag?

scouts honor on the displacement of the donor truck.i put a brick on the gas pedal with no coolant as an experiment on how long the 2.3 would last before sending it to the wrecker.i was hoping parts would come out but it dissapointed me.

on the junkyard part resale-i've let a couple long arm lifts, and those gears go under the radar.its just not worth it to sell yard parts for me on the internet for profit

edit: the only easy way to "nab" a pig is with a torch and the local yard frowns on me cutting everything up

Hahns-you have a 4x4 2.3 truck don't you?

id believe it. ford is really good at throwing any part that just happends to be handy at the time into their vehicles.

Mine came from a 90 ranger 2.3 4x4, my fathers ranger. They made them, they just arent common. The diff tags and door tag both say 4.10 and it was a real D35, it's a canadian truck if that makes any difference.
