D35 Teardown - spring perch bolt removal

I did spindle bearings on my '90 not too long ago with whatever I found, probably long screwdriver and socket like mentioned above...

Those bolts are usually pretty tight, usually takes some work with a 24" breaker bar or if I get desperate hitting the open end of a wrench with a 4lb hammer instead of double wrenching (hammer works better, sometimes a combination of all of the above). I honestly don't remember what I did when I changed the passenger side beam a couple years ago... I'd already had the radius arms off of the replacement beam though so nothing was "freshly obtained)

To pull the pinch bolt for the pumpkin you might be able to beat the radius arm over out of the way, it's been a while since I've tried that too though, I think the last time was in around '11 when I had a '91 Explorer I switched from 3.55 gears to 3.73...

I went ahead and picked up a 1-1/8" deep socket (Sunex 236XD) for removal of the spring perch bolts. Threw some heat on them before removing and my impact made quick work of it. Plan on picking up an extension for this setup so I can remove the spring easier. My axle is completely apart now. Even removed the carrier from the beam to inspect the gears. The passenger side carrier-axle oil seal is pretty dry rotted and will need replacement...

As for a deep socket , get a normal deep 1 1/8 impact socket , measure how much threads you have to cut off to make it fit and GO
