hey guys, im tired of busting those little d28 shafts and u-joints, so would it be possible to shove some d35 shafts and joints in the d28 pig? thanks

No, they're different size and spline count. Your best just grabbing the whole front end off of a junkyard truck and swapping it all out. Go for a 1st gen explorer and you cant go wrong.

I'd say it was possible, but it'd take alot of work and you'd basically end up with a hybrid D35.

Do what yellowsplash said and swap a D35 in, true or hybrid. Either way, it'll be an improvement. It's basically a bolt in swap.

I've got dana 35 for sale if your interested. Pulled it out of a 91 explorer, with 3.73 gears.

well i am getting a d35 and 8.8 next saturday hopefully from a guy only a half hour away. please read my other thread in this section called "d28/7.5 to d35/8.8" because i will need lots of help with the swap
thanks

I know how you feel with the 28 got noise coming out of the drivers side u-joint wheeling with my friends today.Got the 8.8 and the 35 but no locker in front want to redo clutch pack in rear.Camber adjustment also has to be right and it works so well now. With a locker 33' tires and a 4.0 really asking a lot.
