I have a new in box SPARTAN (RANDY'S house brand aparently) that we never got around to now we are slow and the jeep guys I wheel with are upgrading so I am having the front locked on Mon or Tues next week:yahoo:-So my questions are fairly simple I hope, one tech rec all new ujoints on frt ,which seems like a good idea and an alignment will be done as well as some seals and new gear oil ,btw 4.56 was put in frt and rear last year at this time (jan /feb is slow for us so we do our hot rod stuff then) with rear locker - So what parts should we have on hand that will make this as seemless an install as possible and what other jobs might compliment this as well:icon_idea: -thanks as always!

the spartan locker is quickly becoming the favorite lunchbox locker.. i know all my jeep friends love them compared to the aussie or lockrite.

Loved my Aussie. Made my old lock right look like a hunk of shit.

The Spartan is Yukon's new drop in locker.

Air tools, Impact gun, pickle fork, big c-clamps, tall floor jacks, tube of RTV, punches and all the typical hand tools.

My favorite method for getting inside the D35 is to take the radius arm/beam and 3rd member out all in one unit. Undo the radius arm nut, coil nut, coil, hang the caliper, unhook the TRE on the driver side and pull the whole thing out as an assembly. Seems fastest to me, I have tried it other ways and this seems the least frustration and makes lining up the D35 back on the beam with wet RTV a breeze.

Your gonna need to take the bearing caps off on the 3rd, so make sure you keep track on which side the came from and to keep them in the same orientation as they come off when you put them back on.

I screwed up and shoulda bought Aussie's ABS Dana 35 locker after I sold my non-ABS version to you. Instead I shot myself in the foot and bought a Lock-Rite at that time. I hated it ever since (minus the added traction part :icon_thumby:)

It has gone to live on in a buddies 91 explorer project!
