Does any one make a gasket for the differential to housing mating surface? Or am i just going to have to cut one out of carboard?......Dam rtv keeps leaking......

Most common problems are caused by not cleaning surfaces well enough, are not using enough RTV.

Often can be cured by using a thick bead and assemble the parts, install the bolts and snug them so the parts are about a 1/16th to an 1/8 inch apart, but don't tighten them up untill the RTV sets up. That way the RTV acts like an O-ring.

Ken.

FWIW I've neverinstalled a diff chunk into any TTB front end with the beam in the truck.

I disconnect the axle pivot and the radius arm and have the beam laying horizontal (usually on a tire on a rim) to install the pumpkin.

I also apply a thin film of RTV to the beam and a small bead to the chunk and leave it sit for 15-20minutes so it "skins over" before I mate the two.

I also don't tighten the bolts all the way in less than about 40minutes.

Letting the RTV partially cure before tightening is one of those little "Tricks"
that keeps fluids where they belong.
