D35 Chrome Moly outer axle shafts

Anyone have any experience with these axle shafts ?

I managed to snap the left outer on mine last weekend.

Bet you had this failure due to spitting a cap. Try using full snap rigs or tack welding the caps and upgrading to Spicer 5-760X u- joints.

It was full circle clips. I think I'll weld them next time.

Ya even when I used full clips the cap still ended up spinning and egging the yoke. After I started tacking them is when I stopped the problem of spitting caps.

do you guys use 1 or 2 tacks, and does it not affect the needle bearings in them?

It was probably all the gnar terrain at the WEM. Have you SEEN that parking lot?! lol

In all honesty, got a buddy running some chromo shafts on his rig and hasn't had a problem yet. He is still only running a built 2.9 and 33's, but it's locked and all. Used to have problems breaking axle 'til he ran chromo ones... I just don't know if they're the same ones as that or not.

Does he have a SAS or is it TTB ?
