Ok, so I think I have everything figured out except the drive shafts. I'm installing these from a 93 into a 89. Rear shaft: can I steal the axle end flange from the doner and use a splicer #5-134x to connect them, and thats it?Front drive shaft: needs to be 1-1.5" shorter. Can I use the doner's shaft? Will a 93 shaft connect to a 89 TC no problem? Or can I just use the axle end slip yoke? Or will I need to customize my original shaft?

You won't need any new end piece for the '93 8.8. The 28 spline 7.5 and 8.8 in the earlier model Rangers use the same flange. I think it was in '98 or '99 when they changed.

If you have a BW1350 transfer case, you will need a 1.5" shorter stock front drive shaft IF you are at stock height. If you are lifted, it will be best to measure and then do any drive shaft modification.

If you swap in a BW1354, you can use the stock BW1354 to Dana 35 front drive shaft.

The flange size changed in 1990. Swapping axles across that year will require some driveshaft mods (usually it is just a matter of swapping the rear driveshaft flange however, easy to do).

I have a 6" lift am I still going to have shorten my front shaft? If so is there any point in getting it balanced?
