2.3L ('83-'97) D-Port Head and Round Port Intake Port Match

I have found lots of discussion about matching an oval port head to an intake with d-ports, but not the reverse.

What are my options for port matching a 1bbl (which will get a 2bbl carb and adapter plate) round port intake to a D-port head? There isn't quite enough material on each port to match exactly, but is my best bet to mirror the D-port shape and open it up as much as possible? What additional work would be advisable on the intake?
Additional work will be done to the head, etc. to make use of the increased flow, but I'm just curious of my options at this particular connection.

I've gone D-port intake to round port head, but not the reverse. I would say clean up the head ports a bit to match a gasket, then transfer the D-port outline over to the intake. Port to port, there is a little offset left or right, but not too bad. There may be a little bit of the round port that is outside of the D-port transfer, but shouldn't be major. Don't thin out the runners too much on the intake to still have a decent amount of sealing surface remaining.
No sealing issues from D-port intake to round port head, should be about the same in reverse. I did blend down the runners towards the valves to remove some high spots and get a smoother runner wall blend.
