Cylinder Head Help!

I recently had to pull the heads off my 1999 Ford Ranger 4.0L OHV. After taking them to the machine shop we discovered that one head was cracked and would need to be replaced. Before I go searching for cylinder heads I was wondering if they were interchangeable?

For instance the cracked head is on the passenger side, do I need to find a head from the passenger side of a 4.0L OHV or can I use any 98TM 4.0L cast head despite it being on the driver side?

I also called around to find any used heads and couldn't find any I was wondering if anyone had any experience with "Ideal Cylinder head" ? They seem to have some great prices.

Thanks,
Mike

The heads are not side specific for the OHV engine. If it was a SOHC engine then yes it would matter. Sorry I have never dealt with that company.

Alabama Cylinder Heads FTW - they were my supplier when I was doing the Stage-3 ported heads - good quality and price.
