Putting a 2.3 back together and the head bolt mfr. (fel pro) recommends a thread sealant on the bolts which enter the cooling passages. Having a hard time figuring out which ones those may be. I came across a thread here about a 4.0 but nothing about a 2.3 anybody got a clue on this one, thanks.

I would put the ARP thread sealant on all the bolts. Even tho thread sealant may affect torque readings, it would be a good Ideal to use it on all the head bolts to get a more consistent torque.

The thread sealant is a Teflon paste like pipe sealant in the Plumbing dept of a hardware store, but it's may be formulated differently

Just put a light coat of sealant or one layer of the tape. I dont remember using any thread sealant on mine, but the torque specs were 125lbs ft I think(14 yrs ago) Just make sure you get them in hte right order. And I would invest in studs not bolts. They are reusable, the head bolts are not reusable. they have to be new each time.
