cylinder 1 freeze plug

its leaking and I'm going to replace it, but the question is how to get it out, if it comes out I'm going to just put in a rubber one for now because the motor is just going to be overhauled with it out at a later date.
 
If you can't get to it with a pry then simply knock it inside the engine.. Ive done quite a few like that..

i wouldn't. in some motors, (2.3l is one) it can drift around
until it sucks up against the water pump. makes an
unbelievable noise.
 
hit the bottom with a punch and turn it if you can(like a coin in between 2 fingers) then if that works,grab it with channel locks and get it out , if not knoch it inside and grab edge with chanel locks and you should be able to bend it enough just pulling it to get it out, then just use a socket and a hammer to tap it backin
