Ok I seem em all the time on rails, Cutting/Turning Brakes, But has anyone ever put them on an open diff rear truck? Buddy of mine at work has a rail and we have been talking about the idea of putting them on my 89 ranger 4x4. Ive got a 7.5 rear with 4.10's and open diff. We seem to think that this will help me offroad with better traction control at the rear wheels. example: right wheel is spinning, apply brake to that wheel and tourq will be applied to left. We also think it will aid in a slightly sharper turning radius when going through tight trails. I know im not gonna get as an extreme sharp turn like rails do but i feel it could help. Whats yalls thoughts??

it could work, I have heard of people using the RABS to do this, Atleast I think I did at one point

This has been done before (for some reason they are known as fiddle brakes). It was popular many years ago but with lockers now being available at reasonable prices for almost any axle it's just too much trouble and requires a fair amount of experience to get the best out of it,

Ya ive thought about a locker, but the way I wheel I think this could help me alot more. I tend to run alot of tight trails where sharp turns are required. Normally I will throw it out of 4wd into 2wd and dump the clutch causing my rear to move while my front just about stays put. Or I will catch my back tire on a tree and use it to pivot. :icon_thumby: Confuses the hell out of alot of people I wheel with how I get through alot of spots lol. Plus Im not too sure on the locker idea cause im still running my stock 7.5. If i ever upgrade to an 8.8 I might consider a selectabe locker then.

I run a locker in my 7.5, turning 33 inch tires with 4.10 gears and it is bearable
