Hey guys, dunno if you remember my project last YEAR, but I am fixin to switch from 14's to 15's (Deer print wheels) on my '94.
I found a boneyard set of 15's and spent a lot of time refinishing them... they were really rough when I got them. I did a silver base and a few coats of Eastwood rattle can 2K clear.
Problem is, the clear surface is rough in the tight places like the wheel cutouts. I haven't mounted these yet, just been letting them cure in my basement all year.
Anyway, I'm going to be getting tires soon and mount them, but I want to get that surface cut and buffed so it's smooth with a good wax before I put them in use. I need for them to be easy to clean and the really rough surface will prohibit that.
What tool would I get to be able to do the wool buffing wheels with cutting compound, but up in those tight spots? I thought about an air die grinder, but I don't want to get too fast and wind up burning through.
Any suggestions for this job?
