Custom Grille for '97

Hello,
I'm doing a lot of work to my truck (97 2wd) over a long period of time. All in will be engine, trans, rear axle, paint, suspension maintenance, and hopefully wheels and tires.

One thing I've always disliked about the truck is the grille, and I really don't see any options I like. Stock sucks, and the billet insert is OK but too common. I'm thinking black honeycomb but don't see anything. Any ideas what I could use to make one?

Alternately, is converting to 98+ front possible?

04 grill insert, commonly thrown in a dumpster for a billet install.

So far nobody else has had the nerve to take a sawzall to the front of their truck...

I rolled my green body, so if you can figure it out, you'll be the only one to have one.

...on that note, I might have to go find another 04+ grill...
