custom cold air intake

I was looking at the 2.9 K&N Filter Set-Up in the Tech Library. And i understand how to take off the vacuum hose and that it needs to be plugged. but it doesn't say anything about what to do with the hot air hose coming from the exhaust manifold. I know i take it off but is that all i do or do i cap it or something?
