Cup holder issues.

I'm not sure if this is "urgent" enough for this forum page but when I purchased my truck, a '91 Ford Ranger, I noticed a distinct lack of cup-holders. I went back to the owner to inquire and he gave me a cup holder that was not part of the truck originally, picture below.

I would like to know if anyone has a few ideas on how to ensure it does not slide while I drive, when I make sharp turns it slides right to my feet which I find rather hazardous.

You might try some double sided carpet tape or some Velcro.

So you bought a 25 year old vehicle (I'm assuming this was a private party sale), that was never equipped with cup holders, and then went back to the guy you bought it from to complain that it doesn't have something it never had to begin with.

Is that right, or did I miss something?

Screw it down

I definitely would NOT have considered that urgent.

You could drive some sheet metal screws through the bottom of the cup holder and just let them act as "claws" to grab the carpet when it set it down.

That was very generous of the previous owner to give you that thing.

I really like that.
I just don't have any pistons lying around.

I wouldn't use those in my truck...they might do in a pinch...but I grabbed a set out of a 96 Ranger that fit over the shifter and screw into the transmission plate cover...the only thing I didn't like was their ability (or lack of it) to hold a larger size drink cup...the holders don't extend enough...

I would use these too because they lift the cup to a more reasonable height...nothing like dipping your head below the dash level so you can retrieve your drink...lol

Pistons.Very creative. What yr Ford are they in? Charlie's 47 Ford cab over had pedals like that. :D

Not my truck I have a 93 f350

Brain decided this was urgent enough to log in.

Worked many hours at A store that forced the Upsell. To tell thOse storieZ. Our directive was...None of thEse idiots is fit to turn a wrench.

That took more brain power than available...

Drill, sheet metal screws, done. Not my style, but...if the emergency fits, you must acquit. Lol.

Have you ever worked automotive retail?

Frustrating...hmmmmmmm...should I pull your license, or your wrenches?
