wicked-sludge youare corect on the motors coming out of cube vans in the 80's , and most trannys where the turbo 350 and 400 chev which means to get the tail section to put a transfer case on is a fairly eazy job. the mopar trany was also used but i have no idea why you would use there trany when the chevy one is a much more sensable swap due to the millions of them in the scrap yard. as for the inter cooler question that was brought up way earlyer, most where non intercoled much like the 6.5L chevy (better as scrap steel) they acualy work very well in this set up and actualy pass emission standards fairly eazy if you have too but like most guys they got to have that black smoke. the inter coold version is used on alot of small road snow clearing equiptment in Canada in the late 90's and a lot of city's sell them of once they reach 15 old or so so there are alot of tem out there.
