2.3L ('83-'97) Cruise module location

Hello,

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger 2.3L and am working on a little project, I’m installing a rostra cruise control kit on it, the truck does not have cruise control. I’m looking for the best place to mount the servo/module and would like to put it as close to stock position as I can. Does anyone know or have a picture of where the factory cruise control module goes on this engine/year (or a year close to it)? I’m trying to find info on it and can’t seem to find where it normally goes, and I don’t think ford made many 4 cylinder rangers in the 90s with cruise control.

I don't know off the top of my head for your truck, but the location would be the same as any 95 Ranger regardless of engine. Maybe check eBay for 1995 Ranger listings and look at photos of the engine bay?

I put a Rostra Cruise kit on my 97 Ranger several years ago. It works great except when my 2.3L manual doesn't have enough power to climb a hill, which makes it kick off. I mounted the servo on the passenger side just in front of the blower motor. I believe this is the same location as the factory cruise module.

That's the factory location in 99 for sure.

It is the factory location in 1996 as well. Forgot to mention that.

Thank you all so much! I found a picture of the factory location and put the module there. It works great! But like another poster just said, it kicks off on hills sometimes if the engine struggles to maintain speed, but what can I expect out of the 2.3l, great engine but not much guts, especially with ac on. Glad to know I’m not the only one that happened to.

My F350 with 7.3L PSD will do the same thing on the right hill (that is when the speedometer decides to work so CC is usable...), it's just a manual transmission with cruise control thing...

Do you have any links? some days it'd be nice to have CC on my '97 Ranger, if you have to source an actuator conveniently I have a '97 Mountaineer in the back yard...
