Changed buttons on 98 ranger,cruise indicator light now blinking, horn stays blowing when tighten airbag bolts down,what gives
 
I'm curious how this turns out, my '00 Explorer one day the horn started honking when I hit the CC buttons and then it blew the fuse, I changed the fuse and the CC will work ONCE then blow the fuse and the horn hasn't worked since that day like 2 years ago...
 
Clearly there is a short somewhere in the steering wheel area. The most likely culprit is the clockspring as those things are pretty touchy, but it could be that your "new" switches are bad. Did you check the ohms of them before you installed them?
