Cruise control

Well, this time I do have a question that I don't believe is covered in the Tech Library. When I bought the truck the cruise control did not work. I really like using the cruise. Keeps me out of trouble. So is there a common problem to start with? Is there a chance the buttons are not making contact? I looked in the fuse box under the hood and did not see a relay or fuse there. I was sure hoping there was a fuse somewhere I could change. Thanks for any suggestions.

Stop by your local library and go to the reference section. Look for this book:
Mitchell 1993 Domestic Light Trucks & Vans Service & Repair

That will have a step by step walk through for troubleshooting your cruise system logically.

Thanks for the reply guys. I would never have thought about going to the Library. The "ask" site is something I will keep in my favorites list. But I am trying to get my stock cruise to work this time, not installing a aftermarket one. I printed off the page to get a look at the fuse block though. I love pictures.

For what it's worth, if you click the title of the book in my first post it will take you to Amazon where several people have the book listed. It's an excellent reference to have on hand, and about the same price as a generic Haynes manual.
