cruise control pod

Light went out on the left side on/off switch and wanted to do LED but the threads I've read they had to solder in a light with a resistor. Is there no drop in LED for this and if not why the need for the resistor?

Any help would be appreciated.

if you can figure out the stock replacement bulb number, swing by superbrightleds.com and they should have a direct replacement led for you

thanks, iv been on that site a few times i gotta go to the pick n pull and get a whole button because there's a giant hole in the botton.

i had to do the same thing the other month. went to turn on cruise control and my thumb went straight through the button
