my bronco ll its ready for a new 2.9 motor and i cant find a used one anywhere in the area so im looking for a long block i was wondering if anyone had any advice on where to get one from. auto zone and oRilley have the long blocks for around $1500 and jasper is asking$2500 i was wondering if anyone is running any of these?

I'm not running a Jasper engine, but they are good engines. Warranty is pretty good too.

And with engines, you get what you pay for.

4.0 swap? just throwing that out there to get it over with lol

jasper, awesome stuff in my dealings... only thing i can say is is AWESOME.
autozone, RUN AWAY from their long blocks. i've dealt w/ 2.. other people bought them. but they are junk in my personal dealing.
o'rielly, only thing i can say is we got the 350 short block from there and i'm happy with it. i've never dealt w/ their long blocks but i'd buy it from them before autozone for sure.

just 4.0 swap it bro. you'll be glad you did.

i was thinking about 4.0 swap but i dont want to do all the wiring and what comes along with it lol a new long block just sounds like the way to go for me at the moment

the wiring is honestly not that bad... just focus. take a couple days to do it. IMO, i couldn't spend 1500 on a 2.9 when i know what the 4.0 offers. i'd let you drive mine if you were closer.. lol

i used to have a 93 exploder with a 4.0 ... well maby ill look into it.. what trans did you swap with your 4.0?

i used the b2's a4ld for a long time for awhile. then swapped it out w/ the explorer's a4ld. not b/c i messed the other one up. just b/c a i had a guy wanting to buy one, so i wanted the ex's. b/c the explorer's has a few internal differences. in the clutch packs, it has more steels and friction plates. but overall, its the same trans.

to make your wiring easier-- you can do the explorer dash swap also. i didn't, i had to splice my wires into the gauge wires to make them work. but it wan't hard. just time consuming.

yeah im just not to fond of wiring and im in electrical classes at the moment preparing for my ase so the thought of more electrical just doesn't sound to appealing .. but i think ill check into it now and see if i can find a good deal on a 4.0 and all the goodies to go along with it.

just look into it. think about it.. its well worth the swap IMO, and lots of others opinions on here! look around on here at 4.0 swaps.

way i see it, 2500 is a lot of money.. its a lot to drop into a b2.. think about rebuilding your 2.9. is that an option?

thanks for liking oreillys thats where I work LOL anyway they have a price match guarntee!
