My '88 2x4 recently started making noise when braking. It creaks/pops (kinda in between, almost like something is loose) whenever I hit the brakes, no matter how soft. I crawled underneath to try and find anything that looks or feels loose, but no such luck. I unfortunately don't have a decent jack to get it off the ground at the moment, so I was wondering if anyone had an idea as to what this might be before I go borrowing or buying tools =P.

'88 model I would probably start with suspension components (shocks, bushings, even u-joints, and since no jack BUY ONE then drop the wheels and check brake hardware. all I have to offer hope it helps.
