its a 97 3.0 5 speed i start it up and rpms goes straight to 2300- 3000 and stays there never goes down what could it be? need help any point in a good thing to try

IAC ( idle air control valve) or check the throttle cable to make sure it is not binding and allows the TB butterfly to shut & open fully.

On the B3000 I just bought the original owner repaced the cam synchronizer for a 3000 rpm hanging throttle.2000 model.
